I’ve been slacking on the posts lately because the end of the growing season is chaotic! I LOVED the color way Jessica picked for her wedding and the amber bud vases were 🔥🔥🔥 in my crazy prefrost furry I didn’t get any pics of the vases until they were packed. Congrats to the newlyweds!!!

Merry Frostmas! Jack Frost showed up last night and killed all my flowers! It’s always bitter sweet to watch them go. Pretty crazy that yesterday the beds were full of beautiful zinnias and dahlias and today it’s all mush! I can’t stand looking at what was just beautiful so I chopped down what I could to get the fall cleanup and spring prep started. The pink flags are me double backing my dahlia labels so I make sure I have the varieties correct.

There are still fun things planned for this year but Frostmas marks a shift in gears here after a solid reflection moment on this year. I view it as a flower farmer holiday of sorts.

I’ll move focus toward prep and planning sprinkled with a few events and holiday offerings. Stay tuned for more info on wreaths, subscriptions, and workshops.

Finally, thanks for your support during this growing season. I love growing flowers and this year was nonstop. I appreciate you all.

Frostmas is coming this week and I’m trying to savor each bloom here. The #rudbeckia were gorgeous this year. They almost didn’t get planted!!!! I ran out of room and had to get creative. They’ll be my motivation for my fall work. As they’ll be much to do when motivation is low. Dahlia tubers to dig, soil to prep, peonies, ranunculus/anemone corms and THOUSANDS of tulip bulbs to plant. The end of 2021 is the beginning of 2022 (and parts of 2023, 2024, 2025 onward!) It’s the place where imagination and reality overlap which helps me appreciate fall. It’s the end, but it’s the beginning.
