By purchasing a Flower Subscription (Flower CSA) from Blooming Betties, either for yourself or for someone as a gift, you must agree to the following:
Potential Risks of Sharing our Season
Farming is totally at the mercy of Mother Nature. Acts of God that cannot be avoided may result in the destruction of our flowers. Most CSA models include participants accepting the risk of hail, flood, droughts, etc. as well as paying up front for your share. Our setup is a bit different. Your risk is 30%. (The same amount we require for deposit as a placeholder in the share) If a catastrophic event were to occur, we will refund up to 70% of your paid share or whatever portion of your share has not yet been delivered.
If there is an event that doesn’t allow us to deliver at least 30% of your share, you will be automatically entered in next year’s or the next season’s share to receive that 30%. At that time you can determine if you’d like to continue your subscription for the remaining 70% for a discounted rate.
Why does the CSA model work like this? CSA means Community Supported Agriculture. This allows the community to buy a “share” of the crop but also requires that members “share” in the risks of agriculture. While we take astonishing efforts to avoid any catastrophes (we cover crops with frost and known hail) there is just some events we can’t avoid. After all – you know what they say about the weather in Colorado.
Payment:
At least 30% is due at the time of order to hold your place in the subscription service as spots are limited. If you chose to go the deposit route, an email will be set to you just prior to your share beginning and the remainder of your payment will be due before delivery of the second third of your share.
There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of my CSA once purchased or deposit made. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly.
Share Dates
Please understand that the start of each CSA share is flexible and based on seasonal conditions and product availability. Be aware that Blooming Betties will communicate via email to inform all shareholders of updates and start dates, if there are changes and that it is your responsibility to contact the farm via email if you are not receiving notifications near the specified CSA start dates shared in the product details.
Picking Up Your Share
Please understand that your share will be delivered weekly at the pickup location selected upon purchasing you CSA share. If you are are of town or unable to pickup your CSA for any reason, understand that it your responsibility to find a substitute to take the share. If your unable to pickup your share or find a substitute to pick up my share, you will not receive credit or a refund for any shares that you do not pickup.
Pickup time parameters are specific to each host location. It is your responsibility to pick up your share during the designated time period on the designated day. If you are unable to pick it up please entitle a friend to do so. Understand that if your share is not picked up on the designated day, within the designated time, you will forfeit that share and it will be donated at the discretion of Blooming Betties.
Share Delivery
If you have elected share delivery within the designated area (please email info@bloomingbetties.com if you have any questions regarding delivery range) Your share will arrive on the day that you have elected. We do our best to deliver during the cooler parts of the day but please note that we cannot deliver at specific times. Please leave delivery instructions in your notes at checkout. If you would like a delivery made to a different location within the Blooming Betties radius please email us instructions at info@bloomingbetties.com within 48 hours of your delivery date and we will be happy to accommodate a change in delivery location. If you will not be at home it would be best to leave a cooler on your porch with a cool pack inside that is out of the direct sun. Please note if you have a dog we need to be aware of when delivering.
Changes to My Share
Please understand that once you have purchased a CSA, You are not able to change the pickup location, request an alternate pickup date for my share(s), or extend my share due to a missed pick up for any reason. You may coordinate transfer of my share to another individual. (Please do!) Also understand that Blooming Betties does not facilitate such transfers, and that you should make all arrangements for the new shareholder to pay you directly for the remainder of the share.
Sharing Your Weekly Flowers
Sharing your bounty is very generous and encouraged! Isn’t it wonderful to be gifted with fresh blooms? Split a share with a friend or order one as a gift. If you are a business and would like multiple shares please be aware that we do offer bucket service as well. Every share member will receive 20% off subsequent purchases from Blooming Betties. Email info@bloomingbetties.com with any questions or to customize a delivery for your business needs. Bouquet and arrangement add ons will be available in our online flower store when the CSA begins. You may purchase one with your discount and pick it up or have it delivered with your share. The same applies for holiday add-ons.
Flower Care
Please understand flowers are a perishable product, with a variable vase life of 5-7 days. Blooming Betties takes special consideration of flowers that have a longer vase life. Each weekly CSA email will sent with care instructions for your flowers. Understand that all flowers in my share are delivered within 24-36 hours of harvest in peak condition, and that all varieties have a different vase life, dependent on care. Blooming Betties will not be held responsible for shortened vase life or poor flower quality once you receive your share from the pickup location or delivery.
Should there be any issue with your flowers upon pickup or delivery, please contact Blooming Betties via email at info@bloomingbettties.com within 12 hours to alert us of the issue, and when possible will include photographs to document the problem.
Communications

By signing up for the CSA, please understand that you will be added to the weekly email list, and a great method to assure you get emails is to add info@bloomingbetties.com to your email contacts. This is how we communicate updates and changes, as well as what will be in shares each week. Blooming Betties will not be held responsible for miscommunications due to our e-mails going to your spam folder. Please notify the farm immediately if I do not receive an e-mail receipt of my payment or my weekly CSA emails.
PHONE
I understand that Blooming Betties may need to contact you via phone regarding your share if the information is time-sensitive (i.e. alerting me of a same-day change to my CSA pickup), or if you are not responsive to attempts to contact you via email.
